Propositions for Future Artifice is a series of works using experimental glass blowing and image making techniques, to create aritfacts that deceive or trick the viewer into thinking they are dated. I’m intentionally thinking about the possibilities of current trends in glass production outliving my lifespan - glass takes one million years to degrade making it one of the worlds most wasted material. By employing techniques such as sandblasting and hand carved blow molds (in concert with other media as well) I consider the fossilization process as a way of marking significance of a cultural trend that may soon be lost.
